Barnstorming the ski towns for $50-per-man-per-night cosmic blues, honest rock n' roll. On stage with a legend, rowdy at the Little Bear, doing "Bo Diddley" with the man "hisself". Sweating on Sunset Boulevard on a hot Hollywood night after tearing up the Whiskey opening for Al Kooper. Rolls after Rolls rolls by, glittering Beverly Hills blondes with paternal boyfriends. ; Heads pop up from cubicles like prairie dogs. Meetings, quotas, PowerPoint, Outlook, neckties. 45 minutes to get there, an hour to get home; C470, I-25, Douglas, Arapahoe, DTC, SUV, mortgages, strips of grass. ; Black wolf and gray wolf lope after darting pronghorns, the sulfur smell of Soda Butte; fat sow grizzly ambles down Druid Peak, two cubs in tow. Steam from bison beards...Coyote trots away. I wish I could too.
